Dear Everyone,

Spring is here! In the Northwest, it is very welcome this year. It seems like winter has gone one forever this year. We had 6" of snow at our house in April! Yes, I'm not kidding. The big snowball our son Ben made just disappeared a couple of weeks ago.

My trip in April was to Utah to teach for the Utah Valley Quilt Guild and Elaine's Quilt Block. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and Elaine's is a wonderful shop. You won't regret a visit there! You know me - I bought just a few fabrics I couldn't live without!

New additions at home in April! We have new baby chicks! There are 7 or 8 different breeds, 24 chicks total. They are growing fast, and we are hoping for fresh eggs by August! It has been a few years since we have had hens, and I have missed the fresh eggs very much.

And here's our best news on the home front! Our daughter Kate graduated from culinary arts school! We are very proud of her. She has had a long, rocky road, so this is a wonderful, well-deserved achievement.
