Play with two
little known but very dynamic complementary pairs, yellow-green and
red-violet. Talk about a smashing combo! Use a variety of fabrics.
Throw in black now and then for interest. Have fun! As usual, the
recipe for Key Lime Pie is included in this pattern.

YARDAGE:
1/8 yard of 36 different yellow-green fabrics, light and medium
values
¼ yard of 36 different red-violet, medium and dark values, and
black fabrics
2½ yards of one black fabric
Backing fabric: 5 yards
ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES:
Sewing machine in good working order
Sewing supplies you regularly use such as thread, straight pins,
scissors, seam ripper, etc.
Rotary cutting equipment: mat (18" x 24"), ruler (6" x 24") and
cutter with sharp blade.
Bias square ruler, 6" x 6", or another 6" square ruler. This is
important.
CUTTING:
Cut from each of the 36 yellow-green fabrics and each of the 36
red-violet and black fabrics:
1 strip 3” x 42”. From each strip cut, 2 squares, 2½” x 2½”, then 7
squares, 3” x 3”.
Cut from 22 of the red-violet fabrics (choose the medium value ones,
not light ones, not bright ones, not eye-catching/high contrast
ones):
1 strip from each fabric, 3½” x 42”.
Cut from the 2½ yards of black fabric:
22 strips, 3½” x 42”. |
